A garden 'first' this month was a visit by a Grey Wagtail. These are often to be found by the seashore or alongside a local brook, but this was the first time we have seen one in the garden.

The feeders have been well used by the tits and sparrows, including a regular pair of Great tits. By contrast, the finches have been few and far between.

So far this Winter, we have had just one brief sighting of a visiting Blackcap (again no pictures). A Sparrowhawk and Goldcrest also put in appearances this month.
