The most noticeable feature this month has been the number of Winter thrushes in the New Forest. Fieldfare are around in large numbers and there seem to be plenty of Redwing, too.

Unfortunately, with so much forest to feed in, these birds see no reason to let me approach within camera range, but with the bright Winter sunshine, they have been beautiful to look at through the binooculars.

It has been a similar story along the coast, the birds impressing by their numbers rather than with close-up views of individuals.
