These birds are often to be seen foraging around the edge of the field alongside the track leading to my model flying site. However they scurry away whenever a car approaches. This time though I had the camera on the passenger seat and so wound down the window and grabbed a snap of the retreating bird.

Not a great picture admittedly, but it was good enough to confirm the identification.

Five years on, and all I can add is an even worse picture! The significance of this one though is that it was photographed out of the lounge window, perched on a neighbouring roof. Unforturnately the local magpies saw it off before I could get a better shot.
