We have only had a couple more sightings of solitary Wheatears, so I think they have all moved on inland for the Summer. A welcome new arrival this month was the Whitethroat, which was first spotted on 19th April (22nd April last year). So far, we have only seen the one bird on each occasion so I hope there is at least a pair.

Among the occasional sightings this month, not seen last month, were the Kestrel, Shelduck, Lesser Blackbacked Gull and the Rock Pipits.

We have also continued to enjoy occasional visits from Oystercatchers and the Great Crested Grebe but so far, no sign of the return of the Sandmartins (who appeared mid-april last year) or the Terns.
