Difficult to know where to start! Unusual overflyers included a Swan and a pair of Whimbrel - my first ever sighting of the latter. A pair of Shelducks were regular visitors around the middle of the month, and some of the Chiffchaffs were positively identified as Willow Warblers - another first!

All the regular migrants now seem to have arrived safely, including the Sandmartins and Whitethroats. The Common Terns have been seen fishing offshore and a group of six Great Crested Grebes were seen on one occasion.

Great Black backed gulls are now around most days and there are a few Housemartins to be seen occasionally, although their old nest in the Clifftop hotel seems to be unoccupied.
