Most of the usual birds have continued to visit as usual throughout an unusually wet October.

We also have had rare, and typically brief, visits from a Jay and a Chaffinch. The Jay had a quick hunt around the Oak tree for acorns before departing, whereas the Chaffinch seemed more interested in the rose hips.

We also had our first Sparrowhawk sighting in the garden for three months. It was a rather hesitant (and unsuccessful) attack from what may well have been a young bird.
