The highlight of the month was our first ever trip to Brownsea Island in Poole Harbour. The Avocets were arguably the best 'legitimate' bird sighting - Brownsea has one of the largest colonies of them in the country. However, every bit as charming were the Peacocks, including these two playing hide and seek. Brownsea also is also one of the very few places left where one can see the native Red Squirrel.

We also saw our first Peregrine Falcon this month at Lymington. No pictures, unfortunately. We did fare better with the Pochards at Thatcham and the Knots at Keyhaven though and I have also added some improved Tufted Duck and Greenshank pictures.
