Wheatears have been around throughout the month and there have been large movements of Swallows and Housemartins as they prepare to depart to foreign parts. We have also had far fewer sightings of the Sandwich Terns. The Turnstones however, have resumed their Winter visits

The Yellow Wagtails have been feeding with the cows in the clifftop field just as last year and, both on the undercliff and in the garden, the Robin population seems to have increased sharply this month, presumably as the youngsters compete to establish their territories.

The spectacular sighting of the month though was a large group of Gannets circling offshore. They were still a long way off, but I don't think they are likely to come much closer!
