The Goldcrest is often first perceived as a flash of 'something very small' en route to the neighbour's conifers. Although we often get a reasonable view through binoculars, photographic possibilities are rare.
This bird was busily hopping about inside a Gorse bush so I just kept on taking pictures of the bit of bush where there seemed to be movement. This was the only shot with a bird on it!
I think the reddish tinge to the breast may be the morning sun reflecting off the yellow Gorse flowers
