It took quite a while to come across a Reed Bunting in full Summer plumage, which wasn't half hidden amongst reeds. This photograph, taken at Keyhaven, will enlarge.

Prior to that, these pictures, also taken at Keyhaven, were somewhat marred by the background - but they do at least show the bird's camouflage at work!

The previous Winter, we came across a group of three Reed Buntings in a large Hawthorn tree which were much easier to photograph, and they seemed content to let me take as many pictures as I wished.

The two pictures on the right are of a male. Those below are of a female.
