The Blackbirds are so familiar that it is easy to take them for granted. However the juveniles, every bit as big as their parents, have provided much entertainment this month, as they chase around after the adults pestering them for food.

Judging by how frantically the Sparrows have been feeding, we should see a good brood of them next month too.

No return of the Goldfinch or Blackcap, but the Coal Tits re-appeared later in the month and we had one (unsuccessful) swoop from a Sparrowhawk.
